his stunning Handmade Afghan Khurjin Rug is a celebration of Central Asian tribal heritage, showcasing an all-over field of bold octagonal medallions — each divided into quadrants and filled with intricate miniature motifs including stylised animals, birds, floral sprigs, and geometric fills. Inspired by the ancient khurjin (saddlebag) weaving tradition, every medallion is uniquely composed, making this a truly one-of-a-kind heirloom piece.
The warm earthy taupe/khaki ground provides a sophisticated canvas for the vibrant multicolour medallions rendered in terracotta red, burnt orange, peach, ivory, teal blue, sage green, and gold. Small diamond-shaped accent motifs are scattered between the medallions, adding rhythm and depth to the composition. The rug is framed by a classic tribal border with kilim-style geometric patterning and finished with natural wool fringe on both ends.
